The rooms are neat, neat and clean. Breakfast is plentiful in quantity and choice. WiFi is free and there is plenty of parking space.

The name keeps what it promises: the Hotel Stadtidyll is also always the first address for the local Rotenburger when it comes to celebrating larger celebrations outside of one's own four walls; and so the family has only had the very best experiences here over the years and decades. The service is friendly, courteous and familiar, the menu is first class and comprehensive, so that the choice is sometimes difficult. It could be tight for drivers as the house has only a few parking spaces. Here it is important to switch to the neighboring streets. Because of the directly adjacent forest cemetery, the city idyll is also particularly suitable for hosting so-called corpse feasts, which the locals also like to use a lot. In summary, I can only say: Anytime and again with pleasure.

Clean and well-kept dishes only the selection is very modest

We were there for the breakfast buffet and were actually looking forward to it. However, the anticipation was quickly clouded when we were sitting at our table. First, the coffee ordered was dropped. That can happen and is not bad, but then putting the dirty dishes on the table was just the beginning. The selection of the "buffet" was very limited and already thinned out a lot, even though we were there right at the start. Nothing was labeled, which should also be problematic for allergy sufferers, among other things. Furthermore, the scrambled eggs were inedible. Even the boiled eggs had a musty taste and it was suspected that the eggs were a few days old. Juices and mineral water were already empty when we arrived and it took a whole hour to replace them, even though we removed the bottles and placed them next to the coolers. Even hygiene is apparently not seen as closely. The classic replacement of the bun or bread touched with the bare hand is also the order of the day here and is practiced by the boss himself. In the end it went to the toilets and then I went straight back to things that I hadn't done. Endless spider webs on the ceilings and walls that will never emerge overnight. And the toilets themselves were also clearly marked with brown discolouration, which certainly did not appear that day. All in all I can only say: This visit was the last of us. I wonder how such a shop can still survive in Rotenburg. A star is definitely still too much here!

We were on May 13th, 2020 for breakfast in the city idyll. Despite large hygiene requirements, it was a very nice experience for us. It was a great offer and very friendly service and a very nice atmosphere. The team prepared us a very nice stay. I recommend this restaurant to every guest, we are happy to be here on all occasions.

Very nice little restaurant. We were here for breakfast. The buffet was very extensive. Scrambled eggs were served at the table. We had already mentioned on the phone that someone wanted gluten-free rolls, which was also very well organized. We will definitely come again.

Simple but cozy little hotel. Nice staff and good home cooking. We recommend "Knipp crispy fried" These are offal that are minced and fried, well seasoned, with fried potatoes and pickles. Was rather skeptical, but was really tasty, with a König Ludwig dark, fits. Breakfast offer in the usual buffet form, everything there what you need. Good quality coffee, scrambled eggs freshly made on request. Rooms simply but properly furnished, but the cleanliness still has potential upwards. Price performance fits.

Great staff, clean rooms and good food

I did not stay at the hotel, but I did eat here several times. The food is of the highest quality, and the specialist 'wild' dishes are superb. Service is friendly, if sometimes overwhelmed by numbers of diners. Everything was served piping hot as well, a huge difference over other places. it can get a bit cold in the large open-plan restaurant, however.
